1. Who we are

MODDA provides a Shopify app that helps merchants build configurable products with visual previews, option logic, and customization tools.

2. Data we process

To operate the app, we process merchant and store-related data, including:

  • Shop domain and app installation/session data.
  • Product configuration data created by merchants (models, options, sections, views, rules, layouts, and assets).
  • Customization and event data generated while customers use the product builder (for example, selected options and builder events).
  • File uploads provided through the app (for example image/logo files).

We do not require merchant customer contact fields (such as name, email, phone, or address) for core functionality in the current public release.

3. How we use data

  • Provide app functionality and maintain merchant configurations.
  • Render storefront customization experiences and previews.
  • Secure the app, troubleshoot issues, and prevent abuse.
  • Produce app performance reporting for merchants.

4. Legal basis and data minimization

We process only the data needed to provide app services to the merchant that installed the app. We do not use merchant data for unrelated advertising or resale.

5. Data sharing and subprocessors

We use service providers to run the app infrastructure, including:

  • Shopify (app platform and APIs).
  • Cloud hosting providers (application hosting and logs).
  • Cloud storage providers (uploaded file storage).

These providers process data only to deliver services on our behalf.

6. Retention

We retain data only as long as needed to provide services, satisfy legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. If a merchant uninstalls the app, related data is deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period unless longer retention is legally required.

7. Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

8. Merchant and customer rights

Merchants may request access, correction, or deletion of their data. If we receive a valid request regarding personal data, we will respond in accordance with applicable law.
